Remo Hansen is Group CEO of the Ospelt Group, residing in the Principality of Liechtenstein. A resourceful and dedicated leader, an overview of Remo’s life and career illustrates an enviable capacity to deliver brilliant results in any job he turns his attention to.
Born and raised in Zurich, Switzerland, Remo Hansen started his career in the Food Business in the early 80’s. Thereafter he travelled for many years, including internships in Hamburg, London and Costa Rica. He was ultimately put in charge of the coffee and tea business for the largest retailer in Switzerland, Migros.
After 3 years with Traitafina as head of Sales and Marketing he joined Orior as Managing Director of their Poultry and Vegetarian Business, Fredag. From 1998 until 2004, he was partly based in Weifang, China and acted on behalf of Orior as the CEO of Fresico, the Chinese Joint Venture of Orior at that time. In 2006 he was asked to additionally act as the CEO of Pastinella, the pasta unit of the group, being responsible for the Group’s whole Convenience Business.
In 2010 he was member of the Management Board who conducted the IPO of Orior to the SIX Swiss Exchange in Zurich, Switzerland. In 2011 he was promoted to Group CEO and held various Board Seats around the world. In 2015 Remo joined the family owned Ospelt Group and acts as the Group’s CEO for their Food Companies.
Notably, Remo has successfully completed the Advanced Management Program of INSEAD in Singapore. In complement to his chief role, he is also presently a board member of Varistor AG in Switzerland. This is consistent with his ongoing devotion to education and proactive learning that has been a cornerstone of his career and leadership today as a CEO.
When away from work Remo spends time with family (his wife and two adult sons) and friends, jogs, and is also a proud fan of the Swiss football team, alongside that of his adopted Liechtenstein.
