Born and raised in Zurich, Switzerland, Remo Hansen started his career in the Food Business in the early 80’s. Thereafter he travelled for many years, including various assignments in Hamburg, London and Costa Rica. He was ultimately put in charge of the coffee and tea business for the largest retailer in Switzerland, Migros

After 3 years with Traitafina, a leading meat, sandwich and convenience producer and distributor in Switzerland, Remo joined Orior as Managing Director of their Poultry and Vegetarian Business, Fredag.

From 1998 until 2004, he was partly based in Weifang, China and acted on behalf of Orior as the CEO of Fresico, the Chinese Joint Venture of Orior at that time. In 2006 he was promoted to CEO of the Group`s Convenience Business, responsible for the 3 entities Fredag, Pastinella and Le Patron, specializing in fresh, frozen & convenience food products.

In 2010 being member of the Management Board he was part of the steering committee conducting the IPO of Orior to the SIX Swiss Exchange in Zurich, Switzerland. In 2011 he was asked to take over the responsibility of Group CEO of Orior and held various Board Seats around the world.
In 2015 Remo joined the family owned Ospelt Group as CEO of their Food Companies.

While founding Global Food Consulting in 2018 he simultaneously continued acting as CEO of the Ospelt Food Companies until the end of 2020. In 2021 Remo became Chairman of Varistor AG, yourharvest AG and SOLINT AG, all Swiss based companies in the food and chemical industry. Further he acts as member of the Advisory Board of Worlée, a Hamburg based family owned and diversified company founded in 1852. Alongside  these mandates, Remo consults various food traders and producers in Europe and Asia. In Spring 2022 he joined STASH, a start up in the fast delivery business, as Board Member and Consultant.

Notably, Remo has successfully completed the Advanced Management Program of INSEAD in Singapore. This is consistent with his ongoing devotion to education and proactive learning that has been a cornerstone of his career and leadership today as Chairman and Advisor of various companies.
